One of the main goals of the project is to improve the quality and effectiveness of distance education in order to increase the qualification of the tourist area, and compliance of the educational process in Ukraine, Belarus, Georgia to the European standards. Fact, today is tourism has become one of the most powerful levers of culture and international understanding.

Therefore, the Ukrainian side has attracted the participation in this project nine universities from different regions, which train specialists just for tourism (in particular, the National Transport University, Kyiv University of Tourism, Economics and Law, Sevastopol Institute of Economics and Humanities, Tavriya National University. V.І.Vernadskogo, Yaltinsky management Institute, Odessa National Maritime Academy, Azov State Technical University, Carpathian national University. Basil Stefanik, Donetsk Institute of Tourist business), and cover a wide as possible ", geography "of our state.

Travel directions for topics and transport, for transport - the main driving force of tourism. But the GST is involved in this project not only as an interested party, and above all - as coordinator of Ukrainian universities within TEMPUS project in Ukraine. Rector of the National Transport University Dmitrichenko Nikolai Fedorovich included in the Council Wenet project management and is the coordinator of the project from the Ukraine.

The project started in Ukrainian universities target groups, depending on the nature of tourism in the region: in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, for example, a lot of practice "green" tourism in coastal regions (Odessa, Sevastopol) - cruise, in the Crimea - resort and for the capital of one of the dominant trends is the "business" tourism. Each of these forms of tourism is specific, different and needs its teaching methodologies.

«The European Commission yet did not know such huge project, - the main manager of the project Vyacheslav Nikitin speaks, is assigns to all participants certain duties. We should work harmoniously, accurately carrying out of all problems and maintaining terms. Only such fruitful teamwork will allow to carry out all problems and to reach objects in view in due time».

Major principle of the project - distance learning, the creation of Internet sites with the main portal based on the NTU. Each school develops its courses, that is, creates fun educational materials, specific to the activities of their target groups, and through the portal NTU makes them available to other project participants. These courses are a kind of superstructure relative to basic education high school programs, and on the most Been Made activities in the tourism sector at the moment.

Through the NTU portal you can access the information resource of the project participants from other countries - universities in Austria, Germany. Italy, Slovakia, Belarus, Georgia.

The project will last three years from 15.01.2010-14.01.2013.

Thus the purpose and objectives of the project are:

  • support the process of reform and restructuring in Belarusian, Georgian and Ukrainian partner universities, and support their integration into the European educational space
  • expansion and intensification of educational cooperation in the tourism sector of the EU and Eastern European neighbors
  • use of know-how and experience as a partner universities and educational institutions to increase its contribution in establishing a system of training in the tourism sector.

Thanks to the development of tourism distance education network between Ukraine, Belarus and Georgia will be intense professional exchange between the partner universities, which will result in improving the quality of vocational training in the field of tourism education and will promote cooperation between the two countries in the development of tourism . Establishment of a national e-learning (e-learning) in Ukraine will prepare a much wider range of professionals and managers in the Ukrainian tourist industry from different regions.

With the implementation of the project 158739-TEMPUS-DE-TEMPUS JPHES Wenet can expect a valuable and powerful impetus to improve tourism education in Ukrainian universities (according to the objectives of the "State program of development of tourism in Ukraine 2002-2010").
